Grimsby teacher is the toast of the town
A new beer has been inspired by the ‘herculean endeavours’ of a Grimsby teacher during lockdown.
Just in time for Christmas, Grimsby’s Docks Beers has released ‘Miracle Worker’ – featuring a graphic of Zane Powles MBE delivering free school meals on 440ml cans.
Miracle Worker is a 5.7% double dry hopped IPA, brewed with Golden Naked Oats.
A spokesperson said: “Docks Beers wanted to recognise Zane’s magnificent efforts on delivering 7500 school meals on foot to local children during the lockdown.
“We thought Miracle Worker was an apt name for him, whilst also capturing the spirit of Christmas.”
Zane responded on Facebook: “Thank you for the lovely comments and thanks to Docks and Kirk who did the art work. Totally love it.”
With the help of several local companies – including Docks Beers – Zane will now be delivering Christmas food hampers to the children in the community who need it most.
Plus for every can of Miracle Worker bought, Docks Beers will donate 10p to Zane’s food charity of choice.
