Fundraiser to support Grimsby “hero” Mr Powles
A fundraiser has begun to support Mr Zane Powles who has walked miles to deliver hundreds of school meals during lockdown.

He has been referred to as “towns hero” for all the support he has brought to families and vulnerable children throughout lockdown.
Powles now needs an operation on his knee and the gofundme page has been set up to offer support to him.
Gaynor Edwards, who created the fundraiser, has said: “I started the page up as Mr Powles has done a lot for our children from western primary school delivering school lunches, hampers, laptops and been there to help parents.”
“The money would help toward him getting his operation on his knees as of last week he has been limping and in pain.”
“I have set the target at 2000 but if we can get more than that it would be a bonus.”
The assistant head from Western Primary School, Grimsby, has already been awarded an MBE for his amazing efforts, delivering 138 meals a day to children.
In the first lockdown he has walked 550 miles and delivered 7,500 meals.
Parents, children and other people who have been inspired by his selfless efforts have already raised over £335 in donations.
