Police update following suspected arson in Grimsby
Earlier this week, Humberside Police confirmed that they had arrested two teenagers in connection with a case of suspected arson in Grimsby.
Emergency services including Humberside Fire and Rescue were called to a first-floor flat on Bedford Street just after 9am on Sunday morning.
Speaking at the time, a spokesperson for the organisation said:
“Three fire engines were called to the scene on Bedford Street. The initial call was at 9.08am.
“Fire investigations are still ongoing at this time.”
Humberside Police have now issued an update stating that both suspects have been released.
A spokesperson added:
“On Sunday 14 February at approximately 9.10am officers were called to an address on Norfolk Court, Grimsby following reports of a house fire.
“Two teenagers were arrested on suspicious of arson and have been released under investigation whilst we continue with our enquiries.”
Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.
Significant fire damage was caused, – fire and police investigations are still ongoing.
