Man assaulted on Stanley Street this morning

Officers from Humberside Police were called to Stanley Street in Grimsby at 8:15am this morning after a man was found injured in the road following a reported assault.

Emergency services attended the scene and he is not thought to be seriously injured.

An investigation has been launched to find the person responsible. It is believed that the assault took place between two men who were known to one another.

A statement from Humberside Police reads: “Officers were called to Stanley Street in Grimsby at 8.15am this morning, after a man was found in the road injured following a reported assault.

“Emergency services attended to the man and thankfully he is not thought to be seriously injured.

“An investigation has been launched to find the person responsible, however the two men are believed to be known to one another.

“We remain in the area conducting CCTV and house to house enquiries, and to provide reassurance to the local community.

“If you have any information which could assist our investigation, please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 74 of today, 14 April.”
