Scunthorpe MP urges local businesses to complete vaccine passport consultation

Scunthorpe MP Holly Mumby-Croft is urging local businesses to complete the Governments vaccine passport consultation form.

Under the Government’s “Covid Winter Plan B,” those over the age of 18 would need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before accessing places where certification is required.

Those who are not fully vaccinated will be asked to undergo regular testing to participate in these settings.

The consultation form gives local businesses to have their say on the vaccination passport, either giving the plan the go-ahead or preventing it from being implemented.

The settings that would use the passport include:

  • all nightclubs and other venues open after 1 am with alcohol, music and dancing
  • indoor, crowded settings with 500 or more attendees where those attendees are likely to be in close proximity to people from other households, such as music venues or large receptions
  • outdoor, crowded settings with 4,000 or more attendees where those attendees are likely to be in close proximity to people from other households, such as outdoor festivals
  • any settings with 10,000 or more attendees, such as large sports and music stadia

The form asks business owners if the list is too narrow or too broad, and to then give their suggestions on how to improve the list.

Holly Mumby-Croft said: “As your local Member in Parliament, I want to ensure that the views of businesses in our area are heard by policymakers in key Government Departments. Please do not hesitate to share this with your business contacts if this is of interest.”

The Scunthorpe MP regularly sends out updates to local businesses in the area which you can subscribe to here.

The deadline to complete the form is 11 October 2021.
