Police issue update after motorway vehicle fire
Humberside Police have issued an update after a fire broke out on a nearby stretch of motorway yesterday evening.
Parts of the M180, A180 and A15 were closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Officers have now confirmed that fortunately, nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
In a statement issued this morning, a spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We were called to reports of a vehicle fire on the A180 at 5pm yesterday (Monday 20 December).
“No one was injured in the incident, the road was closed for a period of time and was reopened at 9:45pm.”
Smoke and flames from the lorry fire were spotted for miles, with residents as far as Scawby Brook reporting having witnessed it.
