Elderly woman injured in collision with vehicle

Police are appealing for information following an incident where a woman was hit by a car this afternoon.

The incident occurred on St Peters Avenue in Cleethorpes at around midday today, Sunday 9th January.

The road was closed for just under an hour while emergency services were at the scene.

According to Humberside Police, the woman was hit by a black Citroen DS4 while attempting to cross the road near to the Co-op shop on St Peters Avenue.

She has since been taken to Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “An 86-year-old woman suffered injuries in the collision in St Peter’s Avenue.

“The elderly woman was in collision with a black Citroen DS4.

“It happened near to the Co-op shop as she crossed the road.”
