Covid cases in North East Lincolnshire continue to climb
The number of Covid cases in North East Lincolnshire has continued to rise following a surge in the Omicron variant.
In the week leading up to January 7, the area recorded 3174 positive cases showing a 7.4 per cent increase on the previous week.
According to the government interactive map, the case rate now stands at 1991.7 per 100,000 people.
Recently Diana Princess of Wales hospital announced that visiting would be suspended after a rise in Covid hospitalisations.
If patients are receiving end of life care, have a learning disability, have dementia or are experiencing serious mental health issues due to visiting restrictions, they will be allowed to receive visitors.
As of January 4, there were 68 patients in hospital with coronavirus in Northern Lincolnshire hospitals.
Between January 6 and January 12, a further 4 people died due to Covid in the area.
