Docks Beers celebrates with ‘YOU are Great Grimsby’ exhibition
Docks Beers is celebrating Great Grimsby Day today, Saturday 22 January, with a fantastic new art exhibition titled ‘YOU are Great Grimsby’.
The display will be available at Docks Academy over the whole weekend.
The free event was organised with the help of their partners, Grimbarians C.I.C. and artist Dale Mackie.
It will be open from 12:00pm till 6:00pm across both days and can be found above Docks Beers on King Edward Street.
Dozens of entries were submitted to the brewery last year by the local public.
They were then whittled down to 50 different paintings, drawings, photographs, videos, graphics, music submissions and more.
Face painting, live art sessions and more will also be available to participate in throughout the weekend.
The bar and street food will reportedly be open as usual.
The art exhibition is a brilliant way for Grimsby to celebrate what makes the town so great whilst also supporting local art.
In a Facebook post, a spokesperson for the company wrote: “We will be giving everyone 10% OFF all drinks – to help you celebrate!
“A special Grimsby music playlist will be on throughout the venue.
“Plus we encourage as many of you as possible to wear Grimsby themed clothes, such as anything black & white, GTFC kit, Boars , Fisher(wo)man or even Fish Fingers.
“Upstairs in Docks Academy you will find our first ever FREE art exhibition – ‘YOU are Great Grimsby’ featuring various works of art about Grimsby from local artists, school children, photographers and the public.”
