Where to spend Great Grimsby Day 2022

Great Grimsby Day, on Saturday 22 January, is an annual event which celebrates the life and history of the town.

To celebrate the town’s rich history and its people, the day is set to host some fun-filled events.

Here is a list of some of the main events happening across town for Great Grimsby Day this year:

The Great Grimsby Day Big Clean – North East Lincolnshire Council

Date: Saturday 22 January

Volunteers, supported by the council, are being encouraged to take part in a litter pick to clean Grimsby’s streets.

North East Lincolnshire Council is calling on residents to “show some love for their town on Great Grimsby Day and do a little bit to look after the environment on your doorstep.”

The council have a limited amount of litter picking equipment available on a first come first served basis.

‘YOU are Great Grimsby’ Art Exhibition – Docks Academy

Location: Docks Academy (above Docks Beers brewery), The Church, First Floor, King Edward Street

Date / Time: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 January – 12:00pm till 6:00pm

Price: free (all ages)

Around 50 paintings, drawings, photographs, graphics, face painting, music, videos and more are set to be exhibited.

The Great Grimsby Day event will also see the bar and street food open as usual, with up to 10% off all drinks, and special Grimsby themed playlist.

Grimsby Town F.C. / Bromley fixture – Blundell Park

Date: Saturday 22 January

‘Fill the Park’ vouchers available for season ticket holders and 1878 members.

Up to 20 free tickets for junior players or members available for local grassroots teams and kids clubs (who must be accompanied by at least four paying adults in the Osman Stand).
