Police recover £7,000 in Scunthorpe drug raid

Officers from the Humberside Police force recovered £7,000 and arrested three adults after executing a drugs warrant in Scunthorpe.

The warrant was carried out on a property on Searby Road, Scunthorpe today (Wednesday 26 January).

Upon entering the property, officers found an estimated £4,000 worth of Class B drugs on the premises.

Officers also discovered approximately £7,000 in cash inside the property.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.

Two men, aged 29 and 35, respectively, and one 28-year-old woman were arrested.

It follows other recent investigations in the area by the force, one of which led to a Scunthorpe man being arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

The man was arrested and had a quantity of drugs and cash found and seized.

Humberside Police are urging anyone with information, which could help with their enquiries or any information on any other drug crimes to come forward and contact them.

A report last year found that drug-related crimes were increasing in the wider Humberside Police catchment area.

The The Community Partnership Report found that drug offenses in North East Lincolnshire alone had increased by 20 per cent, totalling 352 offences.

Any concerned resident with information can call the non-emergency number 101, or anonymously call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
