By Grimsby reacts as Lia Nici is appointed PM’s Private Secretary
Yesterday it was announced that Grimsby MP Lia Nici had been appointed as Private Secretary to Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The decision came as part of a Cabinet reshuffle following a number of resignations in the wake of the ongoing lockdown party scandal.
The Conservative MP has confirmed the news via Twitter:

Throughout his time in office, Lia Nici has continually offered Boris Johnson her ‘wholehearted support’, referring to him as the ‘best’ Prime Minister in generations.
But Ms Nici’s constituents have repeatedly expressed their frustrations regarding her lack of presence in the local community.
Over 150 people responded to our initial Facebook post to share their thoughts on the update, with several branding it “unbelievable”.
Others fear that “now she will have even less time for Grimsby.”
Here’s what the people of Grimsby had to say.
One constituent said: ” There is absolutely no surprise in this at all. She’s done nothing but back him up over the last few weeks despite everything he’s done.
“Boris Johnson is surrounding himself with people who will tell him what he wants to hear not needs to hear. She’ll be gone as soon as a vote is required to stay.”
“I guess all those suck up tactics have finally paid off – the two deserve each other,” added another.
“Further distancing the electorate of Grimsby. You definitely couldn’t write this!”
Another branded the decision as “proof she is willing to put her party before her constituents.”
