Exciting update from Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway!

Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway has announced that it has now reopened for the season!

The attraction has been rated the number one tourist attraction in North East Lincolnshire on Trip Advisor for five consecutive years.

The two-mile service is one of the oldest miniature railways in the country and has been running for over 70 years now!

Trains will run every half hour, seven days a week between 10:30am and 4:00pm.

Last month No.24, one of the most popular locomotives, was taken to John Fowler Engineering in the Lake District for a full-scale renovation.

The train is expected to return in Spring 2023.

One lucky spectator caught the locomotive’s departure on camera – watch it being removed from the line here:

Speaking via Facebook, a spokesperson for the railway wrote: “Exciting news to start the year! “One of our most popular locomotives No.24 departed the railway yesterday and made its way over to John Fowler Engineering, Bouth in the Lake District. “She is going to have a top to bottom overhaul leaving no bolt untouched and the intention is that she will be back with us in Spring 2023 ready for the railways 75th Anniversary. “The engineers there did a fantastic job overhauling Bonnie Dundee so we are delighted to see them undertake this work too!”
