Grimsby business man ‘resting and recovering’ after brutal attack

Harvey Shaw, who is the Store Manager at Grimsby Carpet Warehouse (GCW) has taken to social media to thank well-wishers and provide an update following an incident where he was brutally attacked.

According to reports he was punched by the suspect at around 12:30am on Saturday the 5th of February.

He was celebrating his birthday at the Brackenborough Hotel at the time.

Harvey was taken to hospital to hospital to be treated for a bleed on the brain.

Now, in a video update, the father-of-two said he is “resting and recovering well,” and “grateful to be home with my family.”

“It could have been so much worse,” he added.

Lincolnshire Police are leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Those responsible for Harvey’s injuries are said to have fled the scene shortly after the altercation occurred.

Following a widely shared media appeal, the person responsible has handed themselves in.

In the latest police update a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “One man was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.

“One man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released under investigation.

“A second man, aged 37, was interviewed under caution and has been reported for an offence of ABH (assault causing actual bodily harm.)”
