Tributes paid after tragic ‘unexplained’ death of Grimsby woman

Locals have laid flowers and paid tribute following the tragic and unexplained death of a woman from the Nunsthorpe in Grimsby, who has now been named as Kerry Hunter.

Tributes have poured in, with locals describing Ms Hunter as “a lovely woman”.

One person wrote: “God bless you Kerry – a lovely woman, you will be deeply missed.”

Humberside Police were called to Shelley Avenue on the Nunsthorpe Estate following the discovery of a body on Wednesday the 6th of April.

A scene guard remains at the property, but officers were quick to confirm that the death is being treated as unexplained.

Speaking yesterday, a spokesperson for the force said: “Officers attended at a property on Shelley Avenue, Grimsby, yesterday (Wednesday 6 April) following the discovery of a woman’s body.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a scene guard remains in place whilst officers carry out lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.

“The woman’s family are being supported by police officers.”
