Investigation launched after woman’s body found in Grimsby

Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body on the Nunsthorpe Estate in Grimsby last week.

Humberside Police were called to Shelley Avenue on the Nunsthorpe Estate on Wednesday the 6th of April.

The body of a woman now known to be Kerry Hunter was sadly discovered at the scene.

Tributes rapidly poured in, with locals describing Ms Hunter as “a lovely woman”.

Officers confirmed that the death is being treated as unexplained, but have now launched an inquiry.

It is understood that a file is now being prepared for the coroner in order to determine the cause of death.

In an updated statement a spokesperson for Humberside Police said:

“Officers were called to an address on Shelley Avenue, Grimsby, at 11.55am on Wednesday, April 6 following the discovery of a woman’s body.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and a file will now be prepared for the Coroner.”
