Young Scunthorpe swimmers SMASH personal bests at prestigious competition 

Young swimmers from the Scunthorpe Anchor Swimming Club have smash their personal bests at a prestigious competition. 

Scunthorpe Anchor Swimming Club were proud to make a return at the Spring North East Regional Swimming Championships after a difficult two-year wait. 

Mark Summers, head coach, said he was “delighted” to see the club’s ‘big guns’ back in a such an esteemed competition. 

NINE swimmers from the club managed to qualify for the Championships, an achievement to be proud of within the swimming calendar! 

For some young swimmers, this was the first time appearing at such a high-level competition. 

The club said many of the swimmers smashed their personal bests (PBs) whilst competing, adding: 

“The long course club records were also achieved by Fausta Kiselyte (Age 11- 50m Fly); Dominic Thorpe (Age 12- 100m Back and 200m back); and Caitlyn Calland (Age 14- 400m Free)” 

Additionally, FOUR top 10 finishes were recorded! 

Scunthorpe Anchor Swimming Club said the achievements are a “great accolade” for the hard work and dedication that the swimmers and coaches have put in.
