Scunthorpe’s Armed Forces Day is tomorrow! 

As Scunthorpe’s Armed Forces Day quickly approaches, how is all of the information that you need to ensure you have the best experience. 

North Lincolnshire’s celebrations will kick-off at Brumby Hall Sports Ground tomorrow (Saturday 18 June) and is set to be “bigger and better than ever”   

Whilst the event will allow residents to pay tribute to past and currently serving men and women within the armed forces community, Saturday will provide incredible family-fun activities for all to enjoy!   

The day will begin at 11am and last until 4pm, giving you enough time to work around each and every activity that you wish to experience.   

A magnificent spitfire flypast has been planned for the event which is set to stun those looking at the sky!   

Additionally, incredible live music will bless your ears throughout the day coinciding with a plethora of family friendly games, events, and entertainment.   

Here is the list, provided by the North Lincolnshire Council, of the confirmed activities:   

  • A military parade    
  • Cadet Village and cadet games– 119 Air Cadets and Scunthorpe Sea Cadets    
  • Static displays and living history exhibitions– three-part World War One display    
  • Military organisations    
  • Birds of Prey display    
  • Re-enactments    
  • Picnic area    
  • Fun fair    
  • Stalls for local groups and organisations   

The council have also prepared a section purely dedicated for children:   

  • Chris Barnes from Seal the Deal events from 12pm to 2pm with party games, activities and fun for all the family.    
  • Meet and greet characters including Lol Dolls Diva and Unicorn, and Mickey and Minnie.    
  • Sarah Stones from Dream a little Dream between 2.30pm and 3.30pm – meet and greet and listen to popular children’s songs.    
  • Book readings by Jane Keightley – Blast Off to Planet Fun!    
  • Punch and Judy shows    
  • Face painting   

Delicious food and refreshing drink stalls will also be available on the tomorrow:
