Touching tributes for injured Scunthorpe police officers 

Humberside Police officers have received words of praise and well-wishes following a firearms incident that left two officers requiring medical assistance. 

On Wednesday night (15 June), Humberside Police were called to a report of a male suspect carrying several weapons inside a property on Theodore Road, Scunthorpe. 

Upon arrival, a cordon was swiftly placed around the vicinity to ensure the safety of the public. 

During the incident, two members of the force had sustained injuries with the suspect also obtaining a gunshot wound after an officer discharged their firearm. 

The established cordon remained in place around Theodore Road to retain public safety. According to eyewitness reports, an air ambulance was spotted to provide the necessary medical care. 

Following the ordeal, a statement issued by Deputy Chief Constable Paul Anderson was published which was met with messages of praise and well-wishes from locals. 

“So good that the police are getting the thumbs up. They get a dreadful press under very difficult circumstances as do all our emergency services. Thankyou”, added one thankful resident. 

“Well done to all Police officers involved. Hope speedy recovery”, said another. 

“Thanks to the officers who put their lives on the line for us. Hope all concerned make a quick recovery. Stay safe”, continued another. 

“Thank you for putting yourselves in harms way and protecting the public. Speedy recovery with no lasting effects and hopefully the book is thrown at the culprit”, thanked another.
