Fantastic turnout during Ongo’s ‘Employability Day’

Ongo threw a wonderful event to help residents in Scunthorpe into the world of employment, which received an incredible turnout!

On Friday 24 June, Ongo hosted an incredible event at their Cole Street office with aims to support young people in Scunthorpe get in work.

It was an opportunity for organisations to highlight the opportunities they have to help people gain employment.

According to Ongo, over 120 people attended the event, with more than “50 referrals for support made and clients signed up for jobs and support.”

“This year’s event showcased the excellent opportunities available, such as supporting people to progress in their career, traineeships for 16-18 year olds, apprenticeships, mental health support and much more,” they added.

Regina Dalmeida, Enterprise Manager at Ongo, said:

“The event was a great success. We had new and existing clients turn up on the day and it was great to see so many new faces.

“I love doing events like this, it makes it all worthwhile when you see the success of people getting into work.”

Local businesses including Hales Home Care, Juj Taxis, IAC (International Automotive Components), UCNL university campus, Foresight, Rdash, Greene King and Skills centre plus also attended on the day to promote employment and study opportunities.
