Temperatures set to soar in Northern Lincolnshire
Ahead of rising temperatures, The Met Office has issued a red warning with “very high” grass pollen in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe.
An amber warning for other pollen allergens, such as nettle and fungal spores, has also been issued.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Grass pollen very high risk during good weather. Other pollen at a medium risk.”
The warning is in place between Tuesday and Saturday.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Martin Young said:
“By the middle of the week we’ll see temperatures across much of England and Wales widely climbing into the mid to high twenties Celsius and it will probably be hot in parts of southern and eastern England, as temperatures peak close to 30 Celsius.
“It’s possible Northern Ireland and Scotland will join the rest of the country in seeing a spell of warmer weather later in the week, as this hot air from the continent extends northwards across the UK.”
Temperatures are expected to reach 26C by 5pm today in parts across northern Lincolnshire.
They will then remain between 25C and 18C throughout the day.
On Friday, temperatures in Scunthorpe are expected to rise to 28C and 26C in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
