Hospital trust pays tribute to Baby Loss Awareness Week
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust has paid tribute to Baby Loss Awareness Week by turning its social media pages pink and blue.
The trust’s maternity services have also held virtual memorial services in Grimsby and Scunthorpe today to mark the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week 2020.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is held every year between 9-15 October.
The event aims to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK, and encourages bereaved parents to unite with others.
A statement issued by the trust via social media said:
“Our maternity team at NLaG will be supporting BLAW in memory of all of our precious babies and their short but very special little lives which we will forever remember.
“BLAW gives us the opportunity to raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss, drive improvements in both care and support for those affected and in the prevention of pregnancy and baby loss.
“Most importantly, BLAW gives bereaved parents, and their families and friends the opportunity to unite with others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives.
“From today until the 15th October we will be sharing resources, advice and information through our facebook page with an aim to support parents and families who have suffered the unimaginable heartache of losing a baby.”
