Significant decline in new coronavirus cases across northern Lincolnshire
Public health authorities have reported a huge drop in new coronavirus cases in northern Lincolnshire , with fewer than 30 new cases.
There are promising signs across the region, with the Tuesday’s data showing just nine new cases in North East Lincolnshire.
In North Lincolnshire, new cases have fallen to just 17.
Yesterday, across the border in East Lindsey, which includes Tetney and Louth, there were only 19 new cases.
Sadly, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust has reported two coronavirus related deaths in recent days.
Staff at the regions hospitals are also seeing increased admissions.
A total of 71 patients are currently in local coronavirus wards, with 41 at Grimsby, 29 at Scunthorpe and one at Goole.
Six are in intensive care, with four at Grimsby and two at Scunthorpe.
But, data suggests that the third national lockdown could be beginning to pay off, with hopes that the drop in infections will begin to translate into fewer hospital admissions in Grimsby and Scunthorpe.
