Emergency services called to ‘stabbing’ at Immingham hotel

Following reports of an alleged stabbing, emergency services have been called to The Silver City Hotel on Pelham Road, Immingham.

Police officers and ambulance crews were called to The Silver City Hotel on Pelham Road at around 10.10am today. All those in attendance were seen wearing gloves and mask to protect them from contracting Covid-19.

During the current pandemic, the Silver City Hotel has been used to accommodate a number of homeless people, so that they can better practice social distancing.

Following the Government guidance that some shelters had to close, guest houses and hotels nationwide are being used as temporary accommodation.

According to an eyewitness, a knife was used in the attack on a man living at the hotel.

A 21-year-old man who was found in the hotel has now been arrested on suspicion of assault.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said:

“A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an altercation at an address on Pelham Road, Immingham at 10.10am after a man had sought medical treatment.”

The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers are investigating the incident and appealed to anyone with information, who has not already spoken to the police, to call Humberside Police non-emergency number 101 quoting log number 126.
